Why the Osa Peninsula?
The Osa Peninsula is one of the most biologically intense places on Earth—a vibrant bioregion where lush rainforests meet pristine coastlines, and thousands of species coexist in one of the last great wild places. This unique corner of Costa Rica holds 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity within just 0.001% of its surface area, making it a global treasure and a vital stronghold for conservation.
But the future of the Osa depends not only on protecting nature, but on supporting the people who call it home. By investing in the Osa Foundation, you are helping to build a regenerative local economy—one that empowers communities to lead in conservation, restore degraded lands, steward biodiversity, and create livelihoods that are rooted in the health of their ecosystems. Together, we can ensure that the Osa remains a thriving place for both people and planet, now and for generations to come.

Cryptocurrency for Conservation
As part of Costa Rica's growing embrace of digital innovation, the Osa Foundation now accepts Bitcoin donations. This aligns with a national trend where over 380 businesses have adopted cryptocurrency payments, particularly in regions like Puntarenas, including the Osa Peninsula. Initiatives like Bitcoin Jungle, based in Uvita, are fostering a circular economy by providing education and resources to local communities and businesses. By supporting the Osa Foundation with Bitcoin, donors contribute to the conservation of one of the world's most biodiverse regions while participating in a movement that promotes financial inclusivity and technological advancement in Costa Rica.
